Plain-language definitions of the terms that decide which obligations apply to you.

• Accuracy metric — Declared, appropriate measure of a high-risk system's accuracy, stated in the instructions for use (Article 15). Art. 15 AIA
• Conformity assessment — The procedure (self-assessment or notified-body) demonstrating a high-risk system meets AIA requirements before market placement (Article 43). Art. 43 AIA
• Deployer — See role-deployer. Regulation (EU) 2024/1689
• General-purpose AI model (GPAI) — An AI model displaying significant generality, capable of competently performing a wide range of distinct tasks, that can be integrated into downstream systems. Art. 53 AIA
• High-risk AI system — AI system classified high-risk via Article 6 (Annex I product route or Annex III use-case route), triggering the full obligation set (risk management, data governance, technical documentation, logging, human oversight, accuracy/robustness/cybersecurity, conformity assessment, registration). • Technical documentation (technical file) — The Annex IV evidence package demonstrating a high-risk system meets the requirements; the primary artefact assessed at conformity assessment; must be kept up to date. Art. 11 AIA · Annex IV AIA
